And to sum up what had happened during January 2010, here it goes ...

10 Gracious Things in January 2010
1. I am glad that I joined ASEAN IBYE 2010, because I found a lot of precious friends and life lessons.
2. Through ASEAN IBYE 2010 too, I strengthen my refuge to the Triple Gems.
3. I enjoyed my holiday so much while working as part-timer, because in this month I work only on weekend.
4. I shared my thoughts and feelings to a wise person, and a lot of advices were given.
5. I forgive myself and friends who had hurt me in the past.
6. I join MOD singing session again :)
7. I have done my tasks, though not the whole task, but I am glad I finished those things in a week.
8. I watched "Spy, Next Door". I love Jackie Chan's action.
9. I will go to Singapore at the end of this month and meet with Lia, Malvin, Uncle, and Aunty there.
10. I am going to hang out with my old best friends :), and I am happy that I could help some of old best friends.

There are many more gracious things came to me in this month. And although some of them were sad and happy stories, I still treasure them as my precious gems in this life.

May on the upcoming months, I am growing to be a better and wiser person. May I bring happiness to those who are in need of love and support.
May all beings be well and happy always! :)

Mirror

Dear bloggers,

Yesterday I was in great confusion after my friend told me about the reality of this world. Trusting others is like something so fragile to be accepted. Loving and caring for others seem to be non-sense things.

I shook for a moment.

Then I remembered my colleague's words. She told me that we should not be lain by outside appearance. Things that you think are good, are actually not. The person you think is kind, is actually not.

So before I slept, questions popped up in my mind. It asked, "Why do people keep saying that this world is cruel? Can not we trust and love others?". And due to continuously thinking (I couldn't sleep!!! haha), I decided to take my handphone and asked a wise friend about those questions. He replied me, "What people say, just ignore. The Buddha is perfect but people will still criticize him. So it's ok."

Hhmm.. Maybe his answer did not relevant with my questions, but I came to realize that this is so true. World is a mirror for us to reflect. And what I need to do is just to be myself and accept others for who they are. I admit that I am a girl who gives out love & trust to people easily, and I have a magical mind which can always think in positive ways. Sometimes, it is only a minute to get to know about me, and when I feel you are trustworthy, I will share to you my stories. Maybe that's why people say that I am a friendly being and they love to be around me. Anyways, besides those positive side of mine, I have negative side as well :).

To be shared to you... (taken from clovenclive.com)

MIRROR

The good you find in others, is in you too.

The faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

After all, to recognize something you must know it.

The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well.

The beauty you see around you, is your beauty.

The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.

To change the world, you must change yourself.

To blame and complain will only make matters worse.

Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.

See the best in others, shows you yourself.

Give to others, and you give to yourself.

Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful.

Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

Love, and you will be loved.

Seek to understand, and you will be understood.

Listen, and your voice will be heard.

Attachment

Attachment was a scary word for me last time. But now, I don't know how it works, I start to understand the meaning of attachment, especially to the loved ones. Honestly, I am doing my experiment about this matter ;p. Thanks to the subject of the experiment who, at the end, has brought me up from the life's hole and taught me so many life lessons.

Ajahn Sumedho from the book "How to develop happiness in daily living" teaches that being unattached does not mean that you need to neglect your dear ones. It does not mean that you need to get rid of your loved ones.
Being unattached to your loved ones means that you can accept them as they are, and not expecting/ grasping things from them.

I love Ajahn Sumedho's saying about attachment. He said if you attach to someone/ thing, what you love will only causes pain to you.

In my experiment (This proves that I am a science student ;p), I sent a lot of messages to the subject subsequently. The message I sent did not have question mark, so it was the subject's choice whether to reply it or not. Sometimes when the subject did not reply my message, I had the thought, "why this person don't reply my message? Is he busy? Or am I disturbing him?"
And then I realized that those things are attachment. I am in my pain because of waiting for his reply. This proves Ajahn Sumedho's words.

But... when you want to be unattached by neglecting your dear ones, it is also another side of attachment. It is attachment to the idea of not being attached (Complicated, yeah? haha).
And the subject of this experiment told me that when you ignore your loved ones, actually, you do not appreciate what they had done for you.

So my friends,

Appreciate your loved ones and accept them as they are. See things clearly and do not ask for more than what they can do for you :)

I Love You, my subject of experiment haha!! Thank You :) :) :)

Pizza

This morning when I ate the after left pizza for my breakfast, I realized that...

The chili in the flaming tuna pizza I ate couldn't be removed,

That thing made me understand my life...

The chili is the same as the bad events in my life. It is hard to remove them, so why do not I accept them as they are? In fact, that is why the pizza is called "flaming", and that is why my life is called "Carolina's life" :).

Anyways, I am contented with some recent experiences I had. Thanks for the someone who has helped me a lot and gave me abundance of advices :)

A love letter for 2010

I am glad enough to join IBYE 2010. It was a beautiful starter to begin this new year :)

3 days home-stay with a wonderful family and 7 days camp with great people around Asia. What other choice is better than this? :)

And through IBYE 2010, I change myself to be a better person this year :). I change myself to give much more love to myself because this world is reflection of yours. I change myself to be brave to face reality and not keep running away from it. At the end, change is begun from you yourself.

It is a great pleasure as well to be able to find Kalayana mitras :). I am blessed too to be able to spend some of my time with a young bright man who offered his wise advices to me. I think a lot of thanks can't repay his kindness :).

Anyways, I miss all my friends who are in Indonesia rite now.. and I miss Kalayana mitras from IBYE 2010.

Hugss and love from me :) :)
Take care my friends
